As humans we all have a life cycle, to put it bluntly, we grow, consume and then we die and decay, this much is inevitable. When we are gone our existence is determined by the traces we leave behind. Traces offer us the only mark of indication and existence of presence. They are often something we can cause indirectly and directly through our actions and consumption. Contact relics are the specific form of trace that relates to a direct impact of a cause event, they allow us an intimate perspective into these events and their significance.
All dolls are wearing custom printed fabrics, made using images taken of contact relic trace in areas of heavy textile production in East London.
As they become this product they too become part of the lifecycle.
